Mad Slanted Powers was an internet radio station that broadcasted on Live365.com.  Frequently played artists on Mad Slanted Powers included the following: Fugazi, PJ Harvey, Led Zeppelin, Pixies, Frank Black, The Smashing Pumpkins, Soul Coughing, Stone Temple Pilots, The Cars, Talking Heads, Devo, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The White Stripes, Sleater-Kinney, and Tori Amos.

My musical tastes tend to be classic rock and alternative, though the alternative is usually not too obscure.  The average person may not have heard of some of the bands listed above, but most of the bands are on major labels. Hence my slogan "Too mainstream for the underground, too alternative for the masses".

On December 30, 2015, I received an e-mail from Live365 indicating that they would be shutting down on January 31, 2016.  This is due to changes in the royalty rates with no exception for small webcasters.  At this point, I do not plan to try to continue broadcasting, since other options would probably be too expensive.  So, after over 13 years, the Mad Slanted Powers radio station will be coming to and end.

This station was always just a hobby for me.  A chance to play the music I liked, and a chance to see if other people would like and connect with it as well.  Listenership had declined from my peak of several years ago, and the last few years I did not update the station very much.  I would like to have done more with it.  I had lots of great ideas for themed playlists, and wanted to see if I could find ways for listeners to interact and discuss the music.

I didn't get a lot of feedback on the station from listeners, but when I did, it was positive.  Knowing that there were some people out there that enjoyed listening to the station is what made it worthwhile.  So, thanks to all of you out there that listened to my station.

I will continue to maintain this website.  I hope to continue to update it with links to music that interests me.  I also hope to expand it to include some of my other interests.  For now, I still have the links below.
